LANDLESSNESS CRISIS
Ambitious, long-term project to design and prototype future villages responsive to itinerant populations and climate change, re-embedding humans in their custodial niche for biodiversity sinks linked by trade and embassy for collective governance and resilient supply chains. Reimagining built environments, offsets, unhoused/refugees, real estate, natural disasters.
IMAGI-NATION
Global project for economic, governance and environmental change at the margins. IKSLab providing IK processes and Systems analytics for networked projects, creative design for media (film, web content, animation, books). Nurturing a network of Indigenous systems knowledge labs on every continent.
RITE-WAYS
A raft of social projects and research (reported through publication of a book in 2024) in South East Queensland including Equity Partnerships Social Impact modelling, across multiple community led projects and organisations.
THINK-TANKS
Weekly ritual yarning sessions (adjusted seasonally for cultural and ceremonial practice). These are grounding thought experiments in traditional Lore and Law to ideate projects and grow collective knowledge, design methods and processes for IKSLabs to research, innovate and translate new IK applications.
EXTINCTION OFFSETS
Re-designing bio-diversity offsets investment, from verification, data collection and valuation tools to interdependent systems modelling accounting for healthy flows between targeted bioregions. Bio-cultural informatics and place-based narratives informing new asset classes and future financial marketplaces.
CULTURAL INDICATOR SPECIES (CIS)
Reimagining concept of ‘Keystone Species’ to incorporate IK and TEK. Mapping symbiotic, relational land systems with humans in custodial/biological niche, alongside species that impact flows between natural systems globally. Informs Landlessness, Ko-design and Extinction Offsets projects, as well as a Whale project.
KO-DESIGN
Ongoing development of a methodology for analysis, design, organisational restructuring/governance, grounded in the laws and relations of bio-cultural systems of energy, material and information exchange.
ARC CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE FOR THE DIGITAL CHILD
Kollaborative projects with the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child, the world’s first research centre dedicated to creating positive digital childhoods for all children.
WELLBEING IN SPACE: ASTRONAUT VR & SIMULATION
Astronaut well-being sim design, leveraging the overview effect to immerse users in IK informed macro to micro VR experiences of terraphilic connectedness. An inductive process of relational systems knowledge, from a tiny ant to the very stars that signal insect responses to seasonal changes in the landscape, will structure a highly visceral and life-changing experience to both comfort and inspire the user, wherever they are located in the time and space.
SANDTALK TRILOGY
Two books to complete the journey begun with the bestselling ‘Sand Talk: How Indigenous Thinking Can Save the World’, by Tyson Yunkaporta – ‘Right Story Wrong Story’ (2024) and ‘Snake Talk’ (2025).
AUSTRALIAN SPIRITUALITY PROJECT
Australian Research Council-funded three year project with nation-wide research and case studies in sociology of religion, to map trends and risks in Australian spirituality with an international team producing media, research articles and a book.
‘SAND WALK’
Co-authored book with 12 religious thinkers and theologians from around the world, engaging with IK systems described in ‘Sand Talk’.
ABORIGINAL MEMORISATION TECHNIQUES
Research and publication of experimental research comparing efficacy of Indigenous memorisation processes in comparison with contemporary techniques.
